Celebratory RX-7 burnout!
Took me a few hours because it was my first time doing drums and I don’t think the drums have been off once in the 17 years since the Civic was built, but everything is back together and working as intended.
Now I’m going to enjoy some well-earned Chipotle.

Nice! I’ve been avoiding even looking at the drums on my Camaro. I’ve replaced the front brake lines, the master cylinder, the front calipers and pads but I’ve avoided the drums so far.

That was me until the rears started grinding last week. I replaced the rotors and pads on the front about a month ago. Gonna replace the front brake hoses tomorrow because they’re shot.
Everybody made drums out to be a nightmare, but they were actually pretty straightforward. Sure, they were more work than discs, but I think the hardest part was getting the rusty drum off of the wheel hub so I could take it all apart. I think I could do a set in about 60-90 minutes now that I’ve done them once.

Yep, I’m sure I’m going to need the BFH and then once it’s open I’ll be duty bound to fix it right so inevitably that will include new cylinders as well as shoes. The drums themselves might be ok.

My cylinders looked good, so I’m skipping on that for now. I am ordering replacements for my drums, though. There are chunks flaking off of the outside in a rather disconcerting fashion.
